HF400 Cable
A high-quality HF400 (LMR-400) cable (Ø10.3 mm) is widely used in cellular amplification systems as well as for switching various RF devices operating at frequencies up to 6 GHz. This cable version has a copper-clad aluminum (CCA) center conductor.
HF400 Cable Main Features
The main difference between the HF400 cable and the cheap RG-58 series is the significant reduction in loss of the RF signal. When using cheap RG-58 cables, the unwanted attenuation is already noticeable at 10-15 meters of cable length. With the HF400 cable, the cable length can be up to 40-50 meters while the end device (repeater, router, or cellular modem) still receives sufficient signal strength.
For example, the power loss with an HF400 cable with a length of 100 meters ranges from 13 dB for the 900 MHz band to 23 dB if you use a signal at 2600 MHz, but with RG-58 cable, the losses are usually 2.5 – 3 times higher.
Our cable supports a variety of RF connectors (N, SMA, TNC, FME, and others). The impedance of 50 ohms guarantees compatibility with radio equipment.
The cable’s conductor is made of Copper Clad Aluminum (CCA), which is cheaper than a pure copper conductor but has comparable technical specifications. A foamed polyethylene dielectric ensures the cable’s good flexibility. The outer jacket complies with fire protection requirements and is provided with the “Low Smoke Zero Halogen” (LSZH) jacket. You can use the cable both inside buildings and outdoors.
