They earned the abbreviation “UHF” (Ultra High Frequency) during their inception in the 1930s. At that time, frequencies up to 300 MHz were considered high frequencies. However, in today’s context, with household radio devices operating in the gigahertz range, this nomenclature might seem somewhat outdated.
