RP-SMA Male crimp connector commonly used in cellular systems. This connector is optimal for use with an RG58, LMR195, RG303, RG141, RG142, RG400 coaxial cable or similar cable with an outer jacket diameter of 5 mm and a dielectric diameter of 3 mm.
The impedance of 50 ohms ensures compatibility with other components of the RF systems. The metal housing makes the connector resistant to mechanical damage.
The installation of the connector requires a special crimping tool. The central contact of the connector (pin) is soldered to the central core of the cable. This significantly improves the quality of signal transmission and the insensitivity of the assembled connector to vibrations.
Special tools, as well as soldering and crimping skills, are required to assemble the connector and mount it on the RG58 cable. Soldering and crimping provide better contact quality and, thus, good signal transmission and durability than screw connectors. Importantly, the RP-SMA Male connector is supplied with a heat shrink tube to protect the connector from moisture and dust.
